We set sail in less than two weeks! Tentative route, which takes us to some national parks that we keep missing, namely Big Bend in Texas and Great Sand Dunes in Colorado.
We also want to NOT miss a few places from previous trips, e.g., Bisbee, AZ, Catwalks National Recreation Area in New Mexico, Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi, Pagosa Springs in Colorado. Also will be nice to revisit a few nice spots (Hot Springs National Park and Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada, for example) on our way home. Depending on mileage, we may need to detour back through our favorite, Albuquerque, for an oil change at the great Freightliner place we found last fall. Who knows? Other than Cubbies spring training games in Phoenix the first weekend out and the Roadfood festival in New Orleans at the end of the month, the schedule is clear till May Day, by which time we would like to be back home.

Sounds like a great trip! We'll be at a rally at the fairgrounds in Yuma the week you start out if you want to drop by and see our new RV. It's only several hours out of your way. :)
ReplyDeleteWe'd love to--when will you be there? We need to be in Phoenix to meet up with our Chicago friend Friday - Sunday at the end of that week. Not sure at the moment if we can get to Yuma before that. (Lisa had to have some unexpected medical tests today so our departure date is a bit in question.) Let us know when you'll be there and we'll try to make it happen!
ReplyDeleteWe'll arrive at the fairgrounds on March 7th with the Rally officially starting Monday late afternoon and ending Friday morning. Then we have RV driving lessons Friday afternoon and Saurday morning. We don't know yet, where we are going from there. Maybe Phoenix or Tucson. :)
ReplyDeleteMy email link for you stopped working. If you send it to me again I'll send you my phone number.
How exciting. You'll be traveling again! Praying Lisa's tests are OK. I look forward to reading about your experiences.
ReplyDeleteAll of Lisa's tests have turned out well--she had a very scary episode where her heartbeat soared for no reason (in her sleep). Primary care doctor is adjusting her asthma medication, just in case. Hormones, thyroid all OK and most importantly EKG is, apparently, "perfect." So, scary but not dangerous. Can't wait till the bills arrive; that may cause MY heart to race, I'm afraid....
